Prosper is a welcoming small town in Collin and Denton Counties conveniently located close to the Dallas North Tollway, Preston, and Hwy 380. Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is invested in the future and vision of Proper with his $1 billion, The Gates of Prosper, one of Collin County’s biggest retail destinations. Jones will soon add a new 40-acre Business Park off First Street. Prosper is one of the fastest-growing towns in Texas—between 2010 and 2019, the population increased from less than 10,000 to almost 25,000.

More than 88% of Prosper’s homes have been constructed within the past few decades. Prosper has maintained its inviting small-town atmosphere during its recent growth. Community organizations such as the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, and the Prosper Youth Sports Association offer a variety of social opportunities for residents of all ages. Centrally located within the DFW Metroplex, Prosper is around 36 miles north of Downtown Dallas and 55 miles northeast of Downtown Fort Worth. This city is a convenient location for commuters since it is within 14 miles of the LegacyTexas Business Center and 34 miles from DFW International Airport.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
The Gates of Prosper features brands such as Bath & Body Works, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Field & Stream, Kirkland’s, Old Navy, PetSmart, TJ Maxx, and Walmart. The Gates of Prosper also offers a variety of dining options, including Japanese hibachi and sushi at Hana, gourmet pizza at Pie Five Pizza, and hand-cut steaks and fall-off-the-bone ribs at Texas Roadhouse. There are many local favorites dotted around Prosper, too. Cotton Gin Café is a relaxed eatery serving hearty breakfasts, burgers, and other comfort classics, while Ernesto’s is the best place in town to enjoy flavorful Tex-Mex.
Things to Do
Prosper offers over 30 miles of hiking and biking trails, more than 350 acres of open space, and more than a dozen neighborhood and community parks. Frontier Park features a sports complex with lighted fields for baseball, softball, and soccer, as well as batting cages, a playground, and a splash pad. Town Lake Park surrounds a 27-acre catch-and-release fishing lake. The lake is also open for canoeing and kayaking. Residents of Windsong Ranch enjoy exclusive access to the turquoise waters of the incredible five-acre Lagoon. The Lagoon is surrounded by white sand beaches and offers activities such as paddleboarding and kayaking. Gentle Creek Country Club is the centerpiece of the Gentle Creek Estates development. Here, you can enjoy an 18-hole championship golf course covering 235 acres of manicured fairways, wooded countryside, and gently rolling terrain. Other amenities at Gentle Creek include dining at the 360 Restaurant and horse facilities at the Gentle Creek Equestrian Center.
