Things to Do

The Heritage Farmstead Museum features an original 1891 farmhouse and a working 4.5-acre farm. The farmhouse is furnished with more than 10,000 objects and farm tools dating back to the Victorian era. The Interurban Railway Museum is housed within a historic train station in Downtown Plano. The museum has many interactive exhibits and a model replica of Downtown Plano as it looked in the 1920s. The Crayola Experience at The Shops at Willow Bend is a family-friendly attraction packed with fun activities for kids. Plano also offers lots of parks and green spaces, including the scenic 800-acre Oak Point Park, which has 26 trails spanning 8.5 miles. The Plano Balloon Festival takes place at Oak Point Park each year with tethered balloon rides and performances from local community groups on the main stage.

​​​​​​​The Shops at Legacy is surrounded by luxury townhomes and offers residents a walkable lifestyle. One cannot miss the Texas Longhorns bronze sculptures featuring the work of native Texan Mr. Robert Summers whose works can be seen all over Dallas and throughout the United States. Nineteen bronze steers, three cowboys, the trail boss, a vaquero and a black cutter meander their way through Baccus Plaza as a part of the “Trails of Legacy”.
