Celina’s population of 16,315 has roughly doubled since 2010 and more than quadrupled from just 3,092 in 2000. While Celina is a success story of the booming Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area, it remains an inviting and community-oriented city where locals cheer on their record-breaking high school football team, The Bobcats.

Celina offers a great selection of locally-run retail shops and restaurants in a charming downtown area surrounding a historic town square. Tender Smokehouse is a family-owned eatery serving mouthwatering handcrafted Texas BBQ and sides made from scratch alongside local brews. Fan favorites include prime brisket sandwiches, loaded football-sized potatoes, and smoked jalapeño and cheddar sausages. Things to Do
Friday Night Lights are a weekly highlight in Celina as residents gather at Bobcats Field to show their support for the town’s record-breaking high school football team. With eight state championships, an unequaled 68-game winning streak, and 20 state Titles across eight various sports, Celina takes great pride in their community. With dozens of vendors offering fresh produce and other high-quality foodstuffs, Friday Night Market is another Friday favorite at Celina’s historic town square. Other events include outdoor film screenings during Movie Night on the Square. One block east of the town square, Founders Station Park features basketball and tennis courts, a horseshoe pit, a playground, and a gazebo. Old Celina Park on the west side of town boasts world-class baseball fields and other multi-purpose sports fields as well as a catch-and-release fishing pond.

Most of Celina is served by the Celina Independent School District, while the southernmost part of the city is zoned in the Prosper Independent School District.
